Ingredients:

  • 1 (7 oz) can chipotle peppers
  • ½ cup sour cream (Greek yogurt works well too)
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • Salt, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon lime juice
  • 8-10 sprigs cilantro

Directions:

In a blender or food processor, combine the chipotle peppers (with adobo sauce), sour cream, mayonnaise, and lime juice.

Add the chili powder, cumin powder, garlic powder, and a pinch of salt.

Add the cilantro to the mixture.

Blend the mixture until smooth and creamy. Taste and adjust the salt if needed.

Transfer the sauce to a bowl or airtight container and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Use as a dip, sauce for shawarma, or a dressing for salads and grilled meats.
